Chip skipping of stamping parts refers to the phenomenon that the scraps that are punched into the edge of the die are brought out of the die surface by the punch when the precision metal die is being cut at high speed. Its existence will crush strip or stamping parts, thus affecting product quality, shortening die life and reducing production efficiency, which is the "big taboo" of high-speed continuous blanking production.

The main causes of chip skipping are as follows:

In the high-speed continuous blanking process of precision metal mold, there are factors such as cutting oil, too large clearance, etc., which make the instantaneous local vacuum between the punch and the scraps. When the material is very thin, the sum of the weight of the scraps and the friction force between the die edge and the scraps is less than the absorption force of the punch, the scraps will be absorbed on the surface of the punch, and then rise, thus forming a jump Crumbs. There are many factors that affect chip skipping. When the edge of the punch is worn, too much cutting oil is used, the material is very thin and the depth of the punch into the die is too short, etc., chip skipping can be caused.

Methods to prevent chip jumping:

Reduce the blanking clearance of precision metal mold, punch processing special shape, knife edge processing anti slot, air suction device, batch cover knife edge, reduce or change cutting oil, etc.

Three criteria for quality control of automotive stamping parts:

(1) Maintain and improve quality level

① The operator is clear about the current level of quality, the objectives to be achieved and the corresponding requirements.

② Supervise and control the quality information of the process.

③ Analyze the reasons and take corresponding countermeasures.

(2) Firmly implement the belief that "quality is made"

① Check the first and last stamping products of each production line.

② Carry out regular inspection to prevent the occurrence of unqualified products.

③ Supervise whether the operators comply with the operation standards.

(3) When the quality is found to be unqualified, corresponding countermeasures can be taken

① For the unqualified products caused internally, the remedy shall be taken according to the situation, and the report shall be made to the supervisor and suggestions and countermeasures shall be put forward.
