What are the differences between hardware processing and automobile sheet metal processing?

Hardware refers to the general term of five kinds of metal materials, namely gold, silver, copper, iron and tin. Hardware is the mother of industry and the foundation of national defense. The products produced by hardware materials are generally divided into two categories: big hardware and small hardware.

Sheet metal refers to the technology of processing the uniform thickness of sheet metal. There is an essential difference between automobile sheet metal processing and hardware, mainly in the production steps of cutting, punching, folding, welding and sticking. The hardware includes sheet metal and all kinds of sheet metal parts.


Automobile stamping parts


Stamping is a common method in sheet metal processing. Stamping technology is generally divided into two categories: separation process and forming process.

1. The parting process is to separate the stamping parts and blank along a certain contour line in the stamping process, and the quality of the parting section of the stamping parts must meet certain needs, which are determined by the needs of the customers in the early stage.

2. The forming process is to make the stamping blank plastic deformation under the condition of no damage. The automotive stamping parts are transformed into the required product shape, which should also meet the needs of scale tolerance and other aspects.

Sheet metal is a comprehensive cold working technology for sheet metal, including cutting, punching / cutting / compounding, folding, welding, riveting, splicing, forming, etc. The remarkable feature of auto parts is the same thickness of parts. Generally speaking, the basic equipment includes shearing machine, numerical control punch, plasma, water jet cutting machine, compound machine, bending machine and various auxiliary equipment such as uncoiler, leveling machine, deburring machine, spot welder, etc.
