Electrical connector

In addition to a few important electrical connectors on the automobile, which use gold contacts, most of the other connectors are made of copper zinc alloy. However, if the automobile operates in a high temperature, high humidity and bumpy environment for a long time, these connectors may have looseness, corrosion, poor contact and other faults, and some strange electrical faults are also large. Many of them come from this. Therefore, during routine maintenance, it is important to check the connectors of computers, sensors, fuel injectors and other components on the vehicle.

Chassis parts

From the perspective of use, chassis components are actually more prone to problems than the engine, but in routine maintenance, many people often neglect the inspection of chassis components. The parts of chassis prone to failure are mainly concentrated in:

1. Shock absorber: oil leakage is the omen of shock absorber damage. In addition, the obvious aggravation of bumps or longer braking distance on the bad road is also the omen of shock absorber damage.

2. Suspension control arm rubber sleeve: after the rubber sleeve is damaged, the vehicle will have a series of faults, such as deviation, swing, etc., even if four-wheel positioning is not helpful. If the chassis is checked carefully, the rubber sleeve is easily found damaged.

3. Steering rod: the looseness of the steering rod is a serious potential safety hazard. Therefore, this part must be carefully inspected during routine maintenance. The method is simple: hold the rod and shake it with force. If there is no shaking, it means everything is normal. Otherwise, replace the ball head or rod assembly.

4. Exhaust pipe: the exhaust pipe is one of the parts easy to be damaged under the vehicle. Don't forget to take a look at it during maintenance. Especially the exhaust pipe with three-way catalytic converter should be checked carefully.

5. Universal joint dust boot: don't look down on the dust boot outside the universal joint. It not only has dust-proof function, but also can prevent the loss of lubricating grease around the universal joint. Once the dust boot is damaged, the lubricating grease will be lost quickly. Because of dry grinding, the universal joint is easy to be damaged.

We should pay attention to the regular replacement of tires. No matter how durable a set of tires can be, they can't be used for a lifetime. Some people work easily, and the use frequency of the car is low. After a set of tires is used for several years, the tread pattern surface is intact, but in fact, the performance of the tires will gradually age with the increase of the age, and the quality will gradually decline. If we don't know this, we think that "the surface" It's wrong to say that the tire is OK.

When maintaining the tire, first remove the stone and other inclusions in the tread, check whether the outer tire has bubble, layer, crack, deterioration, aging and other faults; second, when disassembling the tire, remove the rust on the rim, check whether the inner tire and the liner are damaged or wrinkled, inflate the tire according to the specified air pressure, and then turn the tire over or transpose. In addition, check whether there is friction between the tire and the wing plate, the bottom plate of the vehicle, the leaf spring, the mud guard, etc.

Battery

Battery is the key of the electrical system. In the car, a lot of electrical devices are used. If the battery works abnormally, the performance of many devices will be affected. For example, in the auto transmission vehicle, if the battery is not normal, the vehicle will not start. Therefore, a stable power supply must always be available.

When checking the battery liquid level, it is considered appropriate if the liquid level is between the upper and lower 2 scribed lines. At the same time, check the liquid level difference of each tank. If the liquid level is insufficient, screw off the cover on the battery and pour distilled water to make up the liquid level.

Check the terminal of the battery, and use the iron brush to remove the dirt on the terminal. If the wiring clamp is seriously polluted, it can be rubbed along the inner wall with sandpaper to remove the dirt.

Brake pads

Generally, we will judge whether the brake shoes should be changed based on whether the brake warning light on the instrument panel is on, but this is the rear bottom line. If we change it only at this time, it is quite dangerous.

You should be reminded that although all vehicles have this warning system, some of them directly sense the thickness of the brake shoes, some of them will light up the warning light only when the brake shoes have been completely worn out and the brake fluid drops extremely. If it is the latter, when the warning light is on, the metal base of the brake pad and the brake disc are already in the iron grinding state, at this time, the bright iron chips will be seen near the rim edge of the tire. Therefore, it is necessary to check whether the brake pads can be used when entering the factory for maintenance, and replace the brake pads close to the life limit in advance, instead of only believing in the warning light.
