According to the customs import and export data compiled by China Automobile Industry Association, China's automobile commodity exports continued to grow slightly in 2014, with a cumulative export value of 84.314 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.08% over the same period last year. Among them, the export value of automobile parts and components was 64.617 billion US dollars, an increase of 8.02% year on year, a slight slowdown compared with the previous year; it accounted for 76.64% of the total export of automobile goods, and its share increased by 0.36 percentage points compared with the previous year. The proportion of automobile export is only 15.23%, which is much lower than that of parts export. Overall, the export situation of auto parts in 2014 is better. The export of spare parts has become the main factor driving the growth of automobile commodity export.

Four categories of automobile parts (engine, automobile parts, accessories and body, automobile, motorcycle tyres and other automobile-related products) showed an increase in export value compared with the previous year. Among them, engine exports totaled 36622,000 units, an increase of 10.56% over the previous year; export value of $1.680 billion, an increase of 69% over the previous year; export value of automobile parts, accessories and body increased by 35.359 billion U.S. dollars, an increase over the previous year. The growth rate of automobile, motorcycle tyres and other automobile-related commodities was slower than that of the previous year, with exports of 15.151 billion US dollars and 12.427 billion US dollars respectively, up by 1.83% and 5.43% year on year.

According to the export data from January to December 2014, the export volume of automobile parts, accessories and body still accounts for half of the four categories of automobile parts. Generally speaking, the structure of export products has not changed much, and the added value of export products has not increased significantly.

In addition, according to the export performances of seven main components (electronic fuel injection device, body, seat belt, airbag device, transmission, drive axle, shock absorber) arranged by China Automobile Association, the export of electronic fuel injection device has declined seriously, totaling 312.8 million sets, 69.92% year-on-year. The other six categories showed a certain growth, including seat belts, drive axles and shock absorbers export amount achieved double-digit growth year-on-year, overall performance is better, the remaining three categories achieved small growth.
